We don’t need no education…
I know you all hate
sermons,
at your age I did
too.
I know it’s not easy when
everyone
chants aloud, at
equal intervals:
That and this, you
mustn't do!
You wonder what the
hue and cry is
about, ‘cause all you
want is to get a
bite, of the forbidden
fruit!
No, it’s not what you
think,
it’s simple and true,
I know all you want
to do,
is break some rules…
Well go ahead and do
it,
but spare a minute to
think,
is this what I really
want to do,
something, that lasts
but a blink?
I thought the latest
scourge was
AIDS or worse still H1N1,
but, not perhaps for
me and you…
I guess you are way
behind,
as the newest thing, plaguing one &
all, is the
relationship flu!!
It begins young,
maybe at nine today,
dies out as soon too,
so by the time you
are twenty,
there’s nothing left
to do…
Well this is nothing
new; long ago it
was called by another
name,
but was untainted,
innocent.
All wanted to be
afflicted by it,
back then, it was
called
friendship true!
So how about giving a
thought
to things that last
forever
like laughing with
abandon
in the rain, counting
the leaves on a
tree, fighting over
inanities?
Maybe, everything
will happen
in all good time too,
there’s no tearing
hurry
reserve the adrenalin
rush
for some magical
adventure
in the long life
ahead of you.
‘Cause often in a
brush (rush) of emotion,
you could hurt
yourself &
others; landing one
in a quandary,
or reach a land of no
return.
So enjoy your
childhood &
teenage whilst it
lasts,
it ain’t gonna last
forever,
everyone will tell
you…
It can ! I tell you,
if you go
by the rule!!

day before the seniors left for ‘the trip’…tabdak, tabdak one)
P.S.: This was written in about 15 minutes flat in an endeavour to convey to kids in a different way that how they were trustworthy and just a note of caution wouldn't do much harm to them, if they knew!!!
